I have the Fatal1ty Z97X Killer Mobo, and I want to add a Samsun evo 960Pro M.2 SSD, and I know that the M.2 socket on this board does not support this generation.  Will it work if I get an M.2 PCI adapter?

Thanks

Dear Rfvasquez,

Thank you for contacting ASRock.

Fatal1ty Z97X Killer supports one M.2 PCIe Gen2 x2(10Gb/s) slots, supports NVMe device since BIOS P2.50.

Because we don?t have 960 EVO in our lab, we tested Samsung SM961 on Fatal1ty Z97X Killer, system can detected SM961 properly.

BIOS P2.50 download link: http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Fatal1ty%20Z97X%20Killer/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

If you want to use the full speed of Samsung 960 EVO, please use the M.2 adapter card, then your 960 EVO can work at PCIe 3.0 x4.

Thank you!

Yours truly,

ASRock TSD

So when you say it supports nvme do you mean it can read and write nvme at nvme speeds or does it just recognize nvme and runs at normal ssd speeds.... Just curious.
