Okay, so here's the thing. And this affects not only the Taichi X470, also the Ultimate and possibly every board before.
The current Realtek Audio Driver is trash, and the Polychrome RGB software is too dependent on it. v8408_FF00, the stable driver has one very annoying bug: It ties up the input jacks with no option to separate them. Plug in a Speaker on the front panel and one in the back panel, and it'll just list "Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)". And if you keep both jacks plugged in, just go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRvGZffXhfk and hear the song. You'll notice some weird reverb, crackling, volume suddenly spiking and then going back to normal and Audio duplication at the beggining and end; the driver is getting confused as to how to output the audio.] Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3ltZmI5LQw. Just hear it. Solution? Remove the Drivers, let Windows 10 do it's thing, and bam, dual, separate jacks again. Another solution is going to Asus' page and getting the Crosshair VII Hero Audio drivers, Version 6.0.1.8339. (Yes they work. All of these X470 motherboards use the same drivers.) That version has a neat feature in advanced settings: Separate the Audio Jacks! But - oh wait, if there's a driver prior to v8408_FF00 the Asrock Polychrome RGB Music function will flat-out stop working! Okay, so install the newer beta version, 8470_UAD_WHQL_2018_0622_142226, right? Wrong! The newer beta version doesn't even have a Realtek Control Panel and there's no way to separate the input jacks again! Try as you might, go to either Gigabyte, MSI, Asus and whoever else; you'll not find a driver that works with Polychrome RGB Music and also allows you to separate the input jacks! Why?! So come on ASRock. How about either asking realtek to modify the drivers to re-allow input jack separation, or putting out an RGB firmware update allowing compatibility with v6.0.1.8339 of the Realtek Audio Drivers? Thanks in advance! Edited by RepeatingDigits - 20 Oct 2018 at 9:12pm |

i would love a updated polychrome app as well.
ther could be some simple new light patterns like fading between 2 (or 3 or 4) user defined colors in userdefined speed/time. same with the breathe effect. |
