    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=8398">Event4101</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 10044<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 01 Nov 2018 at 12:03pm<br /><br /><a href="" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"></a>I too was waiting and waiting for ASRock to officially repost BIOS updates 1.5 and 1.6 to the J4205-ITX support page, but it never happened.&nbsp; Finally, about a month ago, I grew frustrated by the HDMI port problem I have been experiencing for two years and decided to install both updates.&nbsp; I did not care if I was left with a bricked board like what happened to some others, or if some new problems suddenly appeared.<br><br>I updated the BIOS using the files I had downloaded in March of this year.&nbsp; I was using BIOS version 1.4 and installed the updates in sequence from within the BIOS (not Windows) using a USB flash drive.&nbsp; I'm happy to report the two updates installed without experiencing any problems.<br><br>ASRock did not provide release notes with either BIOS update so I can't say what problems were officially fixed.&nbsp; What I do know is the HDMI problem that I found so frustrating has been resolved and the security vulnerability exposed by the Intel Management Engine has also been patched after I installed the two updates.<br><br>While the new ASRock Gemini Lake boards continue to receive BIOS updates, it does feel like ASRock has abandoned the Apollo Lake boards.&nbsp; While the two BIOS updates I installed are not officially available from the J4205-ITX support page, I'm sure if you contact ASRock support they will officially provide you with links to the files.&nbsp; If you don't have that much patience I see they are available from these two locations, at least for now.<br><br>http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/BIOS/CPU/J4205-ITX(1.50)ROM.zip<br><br>http://asrock.pc.cdn.bitgravity.com/BIOS/CPU/J4205-ITX(1.60)ROM.zip<br><br><br><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by Event4101 - 01 Nov 2018 at 12:05pm</span>]]>
