Is the SSD PCIe or SATA?   That makes a gigantic difference. Also, did you do a completely clean install on the SSD when you moved it from the Intel to the AMD board? If you didn't, that could most certainly present massive problems at boot time.

Also, if the SSD is a PCIe/NVMe drive, is it mounted in the PCIE x4 slot, and not the slower slot shared SATA slot (the are both M2 on the motherboard)? Its easy to make this mistake and experience slow boot times.

I have an X370 Taichi and my cold boot time, running through POST is like 10-15 seconds. I've also built a couple of machines based on the X470 Taichi and it runs the same. enabling fast/ultra boot you get you there under 20 secs

to put it simple :
Before i had a msi z270 gaming m7 motherboard with an i7 6700k
same ram, same ssd. with some startup apps and all that. boot time from button push to desktop was about 10 seconds
now with the x470 board i timed at 43sec fresh windows install.

how slow are we talking about

Heya,
I noticed Ryzen has a problem apparently with slow boots for some reason.
People say to update teh bios but i am already on the latest one on X470 TAICHI and the boot is still slow.
I did a boot time analysis with Windows Performance Recorder and the "System" Process takes up the first 24 seconds by holding all cpu cores at 100% load (default 3700mhz) and then everything else starts loading.
