Did you guys see the video Destructoid put on YouTube earlier in the week?
Apparently ASRock gave him uefi version 2.30 for the X470 Taichi or X470 Taichi Ultimate.
Apparently it fixes the ram timiming issue, but still has a few issues.
Probably why it's not listed on their site, yet.

As far as the EKWB EK XLC Predator 240 1.1, it shouldn't interfere with anything.
It's in use now on my current i5 6600K pc and I have the AM4 bracket kit for it waiting the mobo. switch.
As the X470 Taichi Ultimate has much more room up top compared to my Asus Maximus VIII Hero does plastic plate wisw, I think my push/pull upgrade fans will work eaily in my full tower case.

Let me put my 2 cents here.

M.2 heatsink is not needed in properly ventilated case, unless you're going to use the drive for a cache or something.

This is a potent CPU you got there. With XF2, PBO and a decent cooling it should boost above 4.2GHz almost all of the time. If uou need exactly 4.2GHz 24/7 (for whatever the reason) it's a matter of another thread, although there are tons of guides on the web.

Just falsh the latest BIOS, clear CMOS before and after, and you can get some luck running your RAM @ XMP. 4 sticks are a bit hard for even a Ryzen 2. Sawp them with 2 sticks for the same capacity if you can.

the heatsink wont fit the 2nd slot as there is not mount holes for it

and youre not going to have much luck with the rams with a 8gbX4 set up not more than 2666 i believe

youre not going to see much gaming improvements coming from skylake unless youre streaming

as for 4.2ghz my cpu does that on its own in default settings but if you want to hardlock it at 4.2ghz i dont think thats even hard to do just change the multiplier to a fix value and disable boost and CnQ related features

i have a long history with overclocking but tell the truth this system is the first one that i havent touch as it seems to already do that on its own

I need help on overclocking settings for a X470 Taichi Ultimate mobo, AMD Ryzen 2700X cpu, G.Skill SniperX DDR4 3600 ram (2 16GB kits) and a Samsung 850 EVO 1TB m.2 ssd.
New to overclocking AMD cpu's, but not new to Intel cpu overclocking.
Need suggestions for settings to use in the UEFI to get a all core 4.2GHz. cpu overclock and either a DDR4 3600 or DDR4 3400/DDR4 3466 ram overclock?
I'll be ordering my ram next Thursday and will probably receive it next Saturday or a week from Monday.
I won't be using the stock AMD heat-sink.
I'll be using a EKWB EK XLC Predator 240 1.1 in push/pull exhaust.
I also need to know if the m.2 ssd heat-sink in m.2 slot m.2 1 will fit into m.2 2 slot, as that's where I'm putting my Samsung EVO m.2 1TB ssd at.
Other pc hardware:
EVGA SUPERnova G.2 1000 psu
2nd ssd for older games Samsung 850 EVO 1TB SATA 3 ssd
Sapphire NITRO+ RX 480 OC video card. Soon to be upgraded to a NVIDIA RTX 2070
