My temp dropped 31 degrees Celsius... so now I?™m at 45 degrees. Though voltage is much lower now, there must be something else I?™m missing. Might have fiddled with a setting that I shouldn?™t when I overclocked. Or something is messed up with the fan curve.

    Author: Sledgestone
Subject: 10586
Posted: 02 Jan 2019 at 10:40am

So I recently decided to change my Asus Z370-p prime to get a better overclock. First I went with the Taichi but wasn?™t impressed with the performance for the price. Also noticed that my temps around 5-10 degrees higher than in the Asus board. So I decided to exchange it for the k6 Fatal1ty, but the CPU temps are still much higher than the Asus board..

I don?™t understand how this is possible? I?™ve reapplied the thermal paste and remounted the cooler several times. Added more intake fans without success.

Right now I?™m at 4.8ghz with 1.29v and PUBG is running at 76 degrees Celsius with a noctua nh-d15 at almost max rpm. It never exceeded 70 on my old board with the same voltage.

Any insight would be much appreciated!
