Author: parsec
Subject: 1062
Posted: 21 Oct 2015 at 12:58am

Those crazy high temperature reading you see are simply unused outputs on the board's sensor chip. The readings are just random data and not a true reading of a temperature.

Programs like Open Hardware Monitor can only guess which sensor outputs are being used, as there is no standard used by mother board manufactures. These programs would need to be customized for every mother board to only display the sensor outputs that are meaningful. I'm also sure that it does not display all of the sensor outputs that are being used.

The only monitoring program that I have found that even comes close to being configured for different mother boards is HWiNFO64. But it will still display some of the unused sensor chip outputs, since mother board manufactures do not make information available about which sensor outputs are being used.

Your question is a very common one, we see it all the time in PC forums. But you have nothing to worry about.

The only monitoring program that is customized for your board is the one provided by ASRock, A-Tuning.
