Author: DigitalDelay7
Subject: 10748
Posted: 23 Jan 2019 at 5:06am

Hi,

I recently put this PC together

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/DigitalDelay7/saved/jDXtgs

And for the life of me I cannot get it to POST. This is my first build, so I'm sure there's something dumb that I'm missing. I've taken the time to read the instructions thoroughly, I've watched a bunch of build guides, and I've been through all the steps in this guide:

http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems

When I plug the PSU into the mains, turn the power switch on, then hit the power button I hear an audible click and nothing else happens. The light on my GPU turns on, as does the onboard RGB on the motherboard. Doctor Debug displays nothing and there's no system speaker, so I'm not getting a beep code.

The things that have confused me the most have been getting power from the PSU to the various components and getting the connectors to the onboard headers.

These are the connectors I have that are attached to the case:

And here is the page in the user manual dealing with onboard headers and connectors:

If my thinking is correct I should have the positive part of the powerswitch on the PWRBTN# pin and the negative part of the powerswitch on the GND pin directly next to it. Is that right? Should it then follow that I should have the positive part of the reset switch on the RESET# pin with the negative part on the GND pin to the right of it, the positive part of the HDDLED on the HDLED+ pin and the negative part on the HDLED- pin.

The positive power LED on the PLED+ pin with the PLED- pin should follow right? What am I doing wrong?
