A 1600x should still be more than up to the task, especially at resolutions higher than 1080p. A lot of people see reviews and see intel CPUs (for example) scoring higher FPS with the GPUs being tested and assume that anything less is a bottleneck on the part of the CPU. This is not true, all too often it is simply better optimization for intel's architecture in a given title's game engine. Ryzen, from a software optimization standpoint, is still very new. This year and next we will start seeing the gap close between comparable intel and AMD CPUs in gaming scenarios. <br /><br />In short, the Ryzen 1600x is a 6 core 12 thread CPU, more than up to the task with any currently and soon to be available GPU. ]]>

Realtime ray-tracing is still far from the mainstream games.]]>
