Author: codeAR
Subject: 10952
Posted: 23 Feb 2019 at 11:41pm

Hello everybody,

for my computer with an ASRock 775Dual-VSTA motherboard, I have recently - for the purpose of full hard drive - installed a second hard drive.
This is a Samsung V-NAND SSD 860 EVO.

After I connected the hard drive to the mainboard using a SATA cable, the BIOS still shows "not detected" at the corresponding SATA port.
The mainboard should basically support SSDs (see, for example, this Crucial offer: https://www.crucial.de/deu/de/upgrad...k/775dual-vsta).

What can I do to make this ASRock motherboard and SSD hard drive work together?
Unfortunately my BIOS selection options are limited (essentially only "RAID" and "NON-RAID" - both variants unsuccessful). Also, a BIOS update does not make sense to me, as the "unofficial" 3.19a release, according to changelog, does not offer any relevant changes for SSDs.

Many thanks in advance for any support!
