Author: 99phi
Subject: 109625
Posted: 23 May 2025 at 5:12am

Hello,

Recently I have experienced a strange issue with my PC. Whenever I booted into my OS after entering the BIOS, Windows would run incredibly slow, either taking up to 6 minutes to get to the lock screen and freezing several times during the boot process, or bluescreening after about 3 minutes of attempting to get to the lock screen. This only occurred when booting into Windows after entering the BIOS; if I restarted after the issue or if I did a cold boot, the PC would boot into Windows quickly without issues.

I resolved this issue by swapping my two SSDs around; before, I had my boot drive in M2_1 and my storage drive in M2_2, but the issue does not occur when I have my boot drive in M2_2 and my storage drive in M2_1.

I'm curious about whether this is an issue with my motherboard or if this is an SSD issue. These are my system specs:

-CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
-Motherboard: ASRock B650E Taichi Lite
-RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws S5 2x16GB DDR5-6400 CL32
-Boot Drive: HP EX920 256GB M.2-2280 PCIE 3.0 X4 NVME SSD
-Storage Drive: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2TB M.2-2280 PCIE 3.0 X4 NVME SSD
-Graphics Card: XFX Speedster QICK 319 Core Radeon RX 6750XT
-Sound Card: Asus Xonar DGX
-PSU: Corsair HX850 Platinum
-OS: Windows 11 Home Version 24H2
