A2 and B2 are the preferred slots for a 2 module setup. Make sure your RAM is installed in the correct slots then try load XMP again and see if that gets you up and running. If not, load XMP then manually load a lower speed (2933) and try that, repeat (lowering the frequency) until you can post and pass stress testing on your RAM.

You can also use the Ryzen calculator as Tanaka007 suggested but this is a much more involved process. You can use the guides he posted if you feel up to the challenge, I am not going to repeat information already available on the guides here

Edited by Xaltar - 27 Mar 2019 at 1:09am

The Daisy chain has a limit of 3733 MHz (average).
The limit clocks of T-topology and Daisy chain are very different.
Use the Ryzen DRAM Calculator if necessary.
If you want to use really very fast RAM you should use ASUS PRIME X470-Pro etc...

https: //www.techpowerup.com/download/ryzen-dram-calculator/

https: //www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Ryzen_Memory_Tweaking_Overclocking_Guide/4.html
https: //www.techpowerup.com/reviews/AMD/Ryzen_Memory_Tweaking_Overclocking_Guide/7.html
https://www.overclock.net/forum/13-amd-general/1640919-new-dram-calculator-ryzena-1-4-1-overclocking-dram-am4-363.html#post27754172

    Author: wingnutt92
Subject: 11105
Posted: 14 Mar 2019 at 11:43pm

Hi. New build, specs as follows:

ASRock B450 Pro4
AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
Team - Vulcan 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Model: TLRED416G3000HC16CDC01
Intel - 660p Series 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive
AMD Radeon RX580

RAM modules installed in the A.1/A.2 DIMMS. I've updated my Bios to current (1.80). When I attempt to enable the XMP profile to overclock my RAM to DDR4-3000 speed the system fails to boot 2 times and then reverts back to the auto speed of DDR4-2400.

The XMP profile appears to be loading the correct timings of 16-18-18-38 and voltage of 1.35v for the RAM.

Help? As i said, the RAM is new, i don't mind exchanging it for something comparable if there isn't a simple fix.
