Something about the older processors not being able to access the entire BIOS range to program.

There is a way to force this, however:
https://download.asrock.com/TSD/Ryzen5000/X570%20Phantom%20Gaming%204.pdf

Try above method to flash it again to 5.65 (obviously using 2700X). Hopefully, you'll be able to boot 5800XT after that.
Author: KryptonianS15
Subject: 113313
Posted: 30 Aug 2025 at 10:29pm

Hello
I have ASRock x570 phantom Gaming 4 motherboard. I was using a Ryzen 7 2700x processor for a long time then decided to get a Ryzen 7 5800xt for a good deal Brand New! I updated my BIOS to 5.65 installed new processor and can't get it to post. I get 2 lights on the CPU and DRAM light. I've tried a lot of things to get my PC to work with the 5800xt. But when I drop the 2700x back in it works. I have noticed now tho that I can't get my RAM to use XMP or use any higher speeds other than the out of the box speed of 2133mhz. I think after all this it could be my RAM which is not on the QVL and is an older kit. 32 GB oloy 2x16 3200mhz cl16. Never had an issue before with it but after BIOS update I can't get it to use XMP I can't get 5800xt to post either. Thinking now it might be the ram kit.
