That one is almost always caused by either a faulty display cable or
a display that is a bit slow to sent it's ready signal back to the PC.

It has done it since I built the Steel Legend Wi-Fi new with all new components.

My searching here and online suggests it could also be a DRAM parity issue. I have tested the DRAM with Microsoft's app and with Prime 95 large FFTs so the CPU/DRAM are stressed at 100%. There were zero errors.

I have confirmed that the memory sticks are in the correct A2 and B2 per the User's Manual. I've also tested at the default 4800 MHz and the EXPO 6000 MHz settings. The system boots with two beeps in all cases.

Perhaps this is the struggle Asrock has been experiencing with BIOS settings for the DDR5 based mobos? I would have thought this would have been resolved by now as I know Asrock has listed numerous DRAM compatibility upgrades over the various BIOS updates.

    Author: Xaltar
Subject: 113488
Posted: 10 Apr 2026 at 2:17pm

There are a number of reasons a system might beep more than once but still complete
POST and boot normally. In every instance it is some part of the POST process that
took longer than the system expected. Basically, the system begins to beep a POST
code, then that code clears and POST continues.

Typically it's either a display taking a bit too long to reply to the system, this
can cause more than 2 beeps depending on the length of the delay, or an XMP/EXPO
profile that takes longer than it should to pass POST testing. Another thing I
have seen cause multiple beeps is an old, dying or slow mechanical HDD though
this is rare these days.

In all cases it is only a problem if it starts happening out of nowhere where
previously it did not. By out of nowhere I mean no changes to the system, including
displays, display cables, BIOS updates etc. In cases where the issue existed from
the first power on there isn't any cause for concern. It just means POST was going
too fast for one of your components.

In other words, it's only cause for concern if it is a new symptom.

I looked in the Users Manual but was unable to find any reference to two beeps on boot.

There are no error messages from the LEDs. I was thinking maybe it's to indicate that the system is using the dedicated GPU card and not the on-board CPU GPU???

Edited by Xaltar - 10 Apr 2026 at 2:17pm
