Anyway, they are cheap, so replace it just in case.

It could be your PSU too. Check cabling. Also, sometimes some PSU don't handle some sleep states properly and shut down completely when sensing too low currents. There are some workarounds that.

It's also good to update BIOS and clear CMOS afterwards.

Author: Muxlix
Subject: 11720
Posted: 23 Jun 2019 at 9:27pm

X470 Taichi (non-ultimate) board is a few months old.

I put the computer in sleep mode overnight and wake it in the morning by pressing the power button. When it wakes up, it (sometimes) reboots once or twice (wasn't paying attention at the time but it did take much longer than usual - pausing during the reboot before powering back up) and when it comes back up the UEFI settings are back to their defaults, so I need to choose the speed for my RAM again, etc.

Over the past few days this has happened twice. The first time a few days ago and the second time this morning, So it isn't a regular occurrence and I can't replicate it yet.

It has happened once after waking from sleep in Windows 7 and once in openSUSE (I dual boot), so it doesn't seem OS-related.

Could this be caused if the lithium battery is getting low?
