Author: Xaltar
Subject: 11752
Posted: 27 Jun 2019 at 8:32pm

When it comes to BIOS support of unreleased CPUs it's always best to wait till after release to update. There are often issues with early AGESA versions on previous gen boards. We saw this with the release of Ryzen 2 and likely will with Ryzen 3. ASRock got hit pretty hard last time and is most likely making sure everything is ready for prime time when Gen 3 drops. I have no official word from ASRock, I don't see the need to ask my contacts about BIOS updates for unreleased products. What I do know is that if your board is listed as supporting Ryzen 3000 then it will do, it may just take some time for the update to be fully tested and ready for release.

Edited by Xaltar - 27 Jun 2019 at 8:32pm

I have a AB350M-HDV motherboard and I'm going to buy a Ryzen 3600 CPU when it's available.
The news here https://www.asrock.com/news/index.asp?iD=4238 say that new BIOS versions are expected to be released in May and that my motherboard should have P5.90 version to support Ryzen 3000 series.
However I can only see P5.80 BIOS version on the motherboard's page as of end of June https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/AB350M-HDV/index.asp#BIOS

So I'm wondering when AB350M-HDV will actually get Ryzen 3000 series support?
