Asrock makes a Z170 Pro4. The debug code for 66 means you need to reset the CMOS and may be using incompatible RAM. What make and model RAM are you using ?
Author: czander475
Subject: 11772
Posted: 02 Jul 2019 at 4:58am

I am a active quadriplegic. I have always built my own computers. Time for an update and I bought the pro7 z170 because I had a new 7700k CPU lying around. I assembled everything and I could get no beeps- no screen even though it powered up and everything was spinning. I have never used and on board CPU graphics. Is there anything special you have to do before booting the computer. I do know that the BIOS must be changed but first I need to get there.

It was getting code 00 so I receded the CPU. No luck. Took everything out but the bare minimum and still no screen or beeps. I rma it and got a new one. I have the new one. It 2 will power up but gives me code 66. Did the same thing by getting it down to the bare minimum and it still would not post. I have checked everything twice. The second motherboard I decided to test it outside the case.

I have the CPU, 1 GB ram stick and the power supply. Do you have to do anything special when using internal graphics? I am using a Corsair 850 power supply that came out of my old PC. I've tried everything I know with no luck. I am also aware that the odds of two motherboards doing sort of the same thing is probably not possible. I have tried all the simple things to no avail. Any ideas?
Thanks
