It appear that when used with the AMD R9 cpu, the following is correct from the AsRock web site:

I don't know from where you got "AM5"...
Maybe a X770 chipset will be used for a AM5 motherboard in 2021/2022.

The "primary" slot is just a naming, but usually the slot with the fastest possible configuration is meant, the PCIe slot with full 16 pcie lanes, which are directly connected to the CPU.
For all AM4 boards there is only one x16 slot supporting that.
The other "x16" slots just have the same mechanical appearance, but less lanes electrically connected.

Manual:

2.4 Expansion Slots (PCI Express Slots)There are 5 PCI Express slots on the motherboard

PCIE1 (PCIe 4.0 x16 slot) is used for PCI Express x16 lane width graphics cards.
PCIE2 (PCIe 4.0 x1 slot) is used for PCI Express x1 lane width cards.
PCIE3 (PCIe 4.0 x16 slot) is used for PCI Express x8 lane width graphics cards.
PCIE4 (PCIe 4.0 x1 slot) is used for PCI Express x1 lane width cards.
PCIE5 (PCIe 4.0 x16 slot) is used for PCI Express x4 lane width graphics cards.
* If PCIE5 slot is occupied, M2_3 will be disabled.

My rtx 2080 ti manual states to instal the card in the motherboards "primary" slot. Are all three of the slots on the x570 Taichi the same, or is one considered the primary? I haven't been able to find this information in the documentation.
