Author: imaginary_num6er
Subject: 12885
Posted: 15 Nov 2019 at 4:30pm

Hi,

I am trying to trouble shoot a problem that occurred about a week after building my PC. The issue is the PC would turn on for 3 seconds and immediately turn off. Looking at the POST LEDs, the CPU & DRAM red lights turn on with the main power and immediately shut off. CPU, case, GPU fans all turn on and then turn off at the same time. (Eliminates CPU overheat). STORAGE & VGA lights do not turn on, which I suspect due to it being a Ryzen 9 CPU (no integrated graphics) and CMOS storage not being an issue.

I have eliminated the PSU being the problem since I replaced the PSU and both the old & new PSU passed the paperclip test.

My system uses:

AMD Ryzen 9 3900
Corsair 2x32GB RAM (cmk64gx4m2e3200c16)
1000W SeaSonic PSU
2080ti Gigabyte GPU

I have not tried using a CMOS reset yet, but the failure mode suggests one of the 3 components (CPU, RAM, MB) being dead. Please help me understand the POST LEDs since I don't want to replace all 3.
