Author: Chraisher
Subject: 13125
Posted: 12 Dec 2019 at 10:11pm

So I'll start this out by saying I'm a total noob to overclocking. I'm also not interested in trying to overclock the cpu, as it is a rig I'm building for my fiance. I recently learned that getting my true potential out of my ram requires changing the frequency in bios, and I'm attempting to do that for hers, and more than likely mine in the future.
Specs
Asrock b450m steel legend mb
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
G Skill Ripjaws ddr4-3600 16gb 19 latency
Currently showing at 2133 frequency, and any attempt that I make to move the frequency, including tinkering with the timing, as well as attempting default xmp, has ended up in failing and boot loop. Any help would be much appreciated!

I should also note that my bios came new with the 2.70 update and I have not updated it because asrock recommends not doing so for my chipset (pinnacle Ridge), however it gives the same recommendation for the 2.70 update.
