It sounds
like something in the case was causing a short under there and may have left either
a bent leg or conductive residue. It is good news that it is POSTing though, hopefully
nothing is damaged.

Pulled it out of the case and tried it out. Good news and bad news. Good news is that everything seems to be powering on now. Bad news is that I get memory errors on Dr Debug. I have moved the memory around and tried different sticks. I haven't found a pattern yet, but I always end up getting code "10" or "11". When 11 pops up it will boot, automatically reboot, and flash a bunch of codes and stop at 11. When I get a 10 code, it will boot and quickly go to 10 on Dr Debug.
I do have the latest bios version for this motherboard. I updated that before I did anything. I also reinstalled the CPU. Still nothing.......I find it odd that I can not even power off the machine without unplugging it. The reset button does not work either.......

My x399 Phantom Gaming 6 has 2 8 pins. If both are connected that
shouldn't be the issue. Your BIOS version might not support the 2970wx, it
needs to be version 3.30 or higher. There should be a white sticker on your
BIOS chip with a version printed on it, you can look there. I don't think that
is what is causing your issue though as that should pop a code on the debug
display. It could be a problem but I don't think it's THE problem if you know
what I mean.

In addition to the motherboard and CPU, this has a supermicro 846 case modified for Noctua case fans. Using the Supermicro ~1k Watt quiet dual power supplies. I have a Noctua NH-U9 TR4-SP3 CPU heatsink/fan. Using a ASUS 2080 Super graphics card, LSI SAS 9211 card. I also have a blu ray drive hooked up. Oh I also have 2 Western Digital 2TB M.2 drive installed as well. Nothing else. I was basically just wanting to get in a configure bios.

I just saw a 4 pin and 8 pin ATX power connector. Was there another 8 pin that I am overlooking?

I can try reinstalling the CPU possibly tomorrow. It seemed very straight forward. I don't see how I could have screwed it up although if there is a way I probably did.

Make sure you
have both 8pin CPU power connectors plugged in, these TR2 WX CPUs are power hungry.
If all connectors are plugged in properly and there is still an issue try
reinstalling the CPU. It can be problematic getting them installed properly.

Just completed a new server build using the Fatality Professional Gaming motherboard and a 2970wx. Wanted to boot it up and check out the bios settings. However I get power and only 2 out of 5 case fans are spinning, CPU fans not spinning either. It will not power off at all. I have to unplug it. The Dr Debug feather doesn't work at all. The number are not illuminated. The PCI slots seem to have power as the graphics card and sata card light up. Any ideas? Thank you.
