I bought an a300 and an a310 barebones system. I can't get either one to power on with any combination of the power cords that it came with or outlets in the house. I looked through the manual that came with them both several times and see no mention of anything special to do with the power supply. It looks like the power connector should go further in, but I've pushed it in as hard as I feel comfortable without breaking the motherboard and it's already in there snugly with some resistance to being pulled off.
