I even tried the Lovono drivers as suggested on another forum.
I've got the MOTU 8pre-es but Windows doesn't know it.

My Windows Thunderbolt utility (About tab) gives me the following numbers:
Software package version: 17.4.80.550
Application version: 17.4.80.41
Service version: 17.4.80.51
Controller driver version: 17.4.80.84
Networking driver version: unknown
Security level: User Authorization (SL1)
NVM Firmware version: 45.00
External GPUs supported: yes

And, the Intel utility (About tab) gives me:
Application version: 1.0.25.00
Controller driver version: N/A

Is it useful for debugging to note that the Intel utility doesn't find the controller driver? Should I have a Networking driver? How do I turn off the user authentication in the security level?

Please, what else should I try?

Best wishes, Gary

My Motherboard is the Gigabyte Z490 Vision D which has Thunderbolt 3 and I need to convert back down to TB2. I purchased the TB3 to TB2 adapter by Apple but the Clarett 8PreX Audio Interface does not recognize that it is connected. Now PC recognizes it is connected by making the connection sound when the Interface is on and off.

When I download and install the driver by Focusrite, when the download is complete it says no device connected. So are there any PCI-E Cards that will help with my situation? Or can you recommend another Motherboard that has Thunderbolt on it but will work with my RAM and Hardware inside my PC? I spent close to $1700 putting this together and so I am hoping that I will only need a PCI-e card or Motherboard as opposed to building an entire PC all over again.

My computer Specs

OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041
Other OS Description Not Available
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Name DESKTOP-IEL4NO4
System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model Z490 VISION D
System Type x64-based PC
System SKU Default string
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 Mhz, 10 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date American Megatrends Inc. What I'm about to suggest to you is likely FAR more than you actually need to do, but I ended up doing all of the following before it actually started working. I can't say if one, some, or all of the following was necessary, but I suspect if you do ALL of the following you'll be up and running:

As I said in an earlier message, I'm running UEFI/BIOS version 2.40. For the sake of experimentation, start by making sure you're running that version.

Next, in UEFI/BIOS, make sure that your PC is set as follows:
Advanced --> AMD PBS --> Security = "None"
Advanced --> AMD PBS --> Thunderbolt = "Enabled"

I'm not sure if it matters or not, but also try running everything with Secure Boot turned on. I originally tried running it in legacy mode and wasn't having any luck. Note: if you initially installed Windows 10 with legacy mode enabled, the UEFI/BIOS won't see your drive as bootable until you change your drive so that it uses a GPT structure instead of an MBR structure. To do that, visit the following link:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/disk-management/change-an-mbr-disk-into-a-gpt-disk#:~:text=Back%20up%20or%20move%20the,click%20Convert%20to%20GPT%20Disk.

Before you do any of that, though, what kind of Thunderbolt device are you trying to connect to your PC? And what UEFI/BIOS version are you running?
