Um, what CPU and Socket of AMD Quad Core is it you have? AMx? FMx?

Hi all, new to the forum. I need to pick everyone's brain. I have the above motherboard and the following specs:

AMD Quad core cpu
16GB RAM
2 IDE DRIVES
1 SATA HDD
1 DVD WRITER
WINDOWS 7 64BIT
NVIDIA GT 610 2GB GRAPHICS
900W PSU

My problem is I want to upgrade and would like to know the best mb to get and will I need a new cpu?
