Please be noted that we have some hardware design that make the PCIE5 slot can be matched with the Tunderbolt card.

I have used my computer since the WS motherboard was brand new, and I got a Thunderbolt card with it in the beginning.

I am just asking why it would be slot 5 not 6, If slot 6 would have been used possibilities for extension would have been far greater. Because slot 5 is in the way of adding more graphics cards.

Please be noted that the ASRock Thunderbolt 2 AIC have to be installed at assigned  PCIE slot.
On X99 WS, it have to installed on PCIE5 slot.
You can refer the manual of the Thunderbolt 2 AIC for further information.

I ran into the issue with the Tunderbolt 2 add-in card that is has to be connected into PCI slot number 5, it would have been much much better space usage to have it in slot number 6, Is there absolutely no way for it to work in slot number 6.
