You need a dedicated GPU unless you are using an APU (CPU with built in graphics).
An example of some APUs:
Athlon 200ge
Athlon 3000g
Ryzen 3 2200g and 3200g
Ryzen 5 2400g and 3400g

It sounds like your CPU is not an APU.
