In other words no, you do not need to connect it if the system is using a single or even dual GPU. If you experience instability with dual or more GPUs then it is worth connecting otherwise it is not necessary. &nbsp;]]>

It isn't required but recommended for stability, especially if you're running hardware components that need a lot of power. The additional power connector would make sense because the Z170 OC Formula is designed for overclocking. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.<br>]]>
