By smartly recognizing that a component, here the CPU and or IMC, can not boot and run at the settings changes you've made and smartly adjusts/reverts those settings back to where it WILL boot. And magically it does boot, all w/o you intervening to be forced into a CMOS clearing for it to boot.

BFG is covered in your manual and many many places on the internet. Personally, I like it.
This isn't surprising if you haven't made certain voltage increases in the BIOS, and even then the IMC may not respond to eight sticks at 2666.

What specific p/n is your single Kit of eight sticks ?

Can I assume these eight ran OK at their JEDEC Default of 2133 when installed???

Let me look, but somewhere off-site I read a post of X99's having issue with setting eight sticks at once using XMP Profiles and the poster said how he did finally get all eight running with XMP.

IIRC he only loaded four sticks, set XMP in the BIOS, Save and Exited, shut down and then installed the remaining four and presto.

Edited by wardog - 16 Jan 2016 at 10:53pm
