memtest86 is enough to consider system as stable :)
The biggest issue when flashing BIOS from BIOS is memory stability. If that passes, you are safe. Also if you have any OCs on CPU, drop them to factory settings before the flash to minimise any unexpected instabilities.
basically best way to flash a BIOS is:
note previous BIOS settings for yourself via photos, if you wish to keep them in the future, reset the BIOS to factory default, and then flash the BIOS.

I only have the CPU, Ram & Graphics Card attached as I am unable to install Windows. I have run memtest86 from a USB stick and memory passed.

If you can boot into BIOS with 5000 series CPU you can definitely flash it with newer version. I have recently bought a X570 Phantom Gaming 4 and a Ryzen 5 5600x, the BIOS is 3.10 and according to the ASRock BIOS Page it needs to be 3.20. When I boot up, I can get into the UEFI and my 56000x is shown along with my RAM 16GB Corsair Vengeance 3200Mhz in Slot A2.
I can get to the Instant Flash in the UEFI Update Utility, am I able to update the BIOS to 3.2 using my 5600x CPU, as the BIOS page states: ??To support Renoir/Ryzen??5000 processors, it requires to update the BIOS with Matisse CPU.
*If you use Pinnacle Ridge or Picasso, please refer to the "Steps to Update Renoir/ Ryzen??5000 Supported BIOS" to update the BIOS.??
I don?™t want to blow the MB
I?™ve tried asking ASRock Technical Support, but as yet, No Reply.
Any help gratefully received.
