Thanks for your reply.

For ARGB lighting, replacing the board or asking a professional to replace the header is overkill, it's not the most pressing issue for me, just something that's nice to have. Wouldn't want to have my PC out of operation or have to rebuild on a new mobo.

Yes, removing the plastic to expose the nubs was what I was thinking of, but I'm worried about the possibility of damaging mobo? Not sure if there is other wiring/circuitry that could get damaged while doing this?

I could also buy another ARGB controller but would prefer to control from the mobo if possible.

Is the board under warranty?

If not, you may be best served getting someone skilled with a soldering iron to
replace the header for you. The ones you purchased would do the job but you need
to unsolder the damaged header from the board and replace it completely with the
new one. Alternatively, you could carefully remove the plastic and expose the nubs
of the broken pins and either carefully solder to those or see if you have enough
length on them for the connector to work.

Ive just bought some 3 Pin ARBG fans and LED strips for my PC but managed to break off two off the pins when connecting them.

I tried to repair the connector with one of these:

By snapping off unwanted pins (couldn?™t find a three-pin version) and use this to cover where the pins broke off, but it didn?™t work - the connectors just weren?™t connecting with the bits of snapped off pins.

There is a layer of plastic between where the pins protrude from and the board, would it do any damage if I removed this with pliers? I may then expose some of the missing pins?

Mobo is Asrock B450 Pro 4.
