It could be a number of things, the lack of an iGPU, the fact that the 560Ti is
based on an outdated standard or simply a setting somewhere that needs to be
changed. I would guess a legacy compatibility (CSM) setting. As I said, fast boot is
notoriously temperamental, particularly when mixing older and newer hardware.

I don't understand why it still exists, outside of security reasons on
servers/workstations or where you may not want someone to be able to access
BIOS and boot options. for boot times, Windows has it's own "fast startup" mode
that has a much more significant impact on boot times and all too often does not
play nice with the fast boot option in BIOS. Then again, my systems tend to run
24/7 anyway so boot times are not a factor for me. With an NVMe boot drive my
system goes from power on to login screen in about 12 seconds anyway, without
any fast boot/fast startup options enabled.

If memory serves, all the BIOS fast boot option does is prevent network lookup,
drive searching and other bootup options from functioning, it also disables
keyboard, mouse and network input until the OS is loaded. In all, on a modern
system, it saves you about 2-3 seconds. Not worth the hassle of making it work or
dealing with it's quirks (needing to install an app to boot into the BIOS).

Thanks for the reply I was just wanting a super fast boot, I see your point, if it is an issue then I will leave it. Do you think the 5 system bleeps mean that it goes to boot and cannot see graphics? Or there is another issue, I just like to understand you see. Fastboot can be problematic. Personally, I don't see the point in it, it just makes
getting into the BIOS a pain. Is there a particular reason you want to enable it

Hi all, I just built a new system for myself although I have not built a system for quite a few years maybe 12 - 15. Anyway I am having issues with getting fast boot working, system is Asrock H410M-HDV/M2 Board, I5 10400F, 1TB XPG SX8200 M2, 16GB Kingston Hyper X 3200 CL16, 500w Cylon 80 Plus power Supply, A second hand Asus ENGTX560 TI Direct CU2.

So on first boot I got the CPU or Graphics error 5 post bleeps, then I checked everything and tried again and got the ASROCK boot screen F2 and so options in BIOS I set up Ram as it had set it as 2400 & cl17, I manually set up as 2666 & cl16. I then installed Windows 10 Pro.

All ok PC running fine managed to set up dual monitors on DVI to HDMI's.

When I open BIOS and select fast boot, on restart I get the CPU error / graphics error of 5 system bleeps on start up and the failed start, then the PC restarts and does a normal slow boot showing the ASROCK post boot menu F2 and other options, booting to Windows.

Any ideas on how to get fast boot working is it because the CPU is F without graphics and I need to change a bios setting or will it never work?
