I thought this may be the way to go, but I was hoping for the quicker way.
And I agree.... While I'm an ASRock aficionado, this pickiness about processor is a bit bothersome. Specially for a high-range mobo.

Oh well.... gotta do something while I'm locked in during the weekend, don't I£

After that replace the CPU to 3450G and you should be able to update to later BIOS versions with usual methods, like BIOS Instant Flash.

To be honest, all this stupid CPU requirements for flashing a simple BIOS is idiotic at best. Does Asrock REALLY think that we all have all the released CPUs from AMD at hand£

    Author: os-390
Subject: 18400
Posted: 17 Mar 2021 at 8:32pm

Hello,

I want to flash a newer BIOS on my X570 Pro4 as I need to test a R3 4350G PRO (Renoir) which is not supported by the currently flashed 1.30

The CPU that usually sits on my mobo is a R5 2600 (Pinnacle Ridge) - so I did notice on the bios download page that some earlier versions (3.00 - 3.20) needed to be flashed from EFI prompt; but that isn't the case for the latest version (3.90) ... so I'm wondering whether I can go for the "usual" Instant Flash from bios or instead use the EFI procedure.

I would hate to brick my mobo, so I definitely appreciate any input on this topic!! Thank you very very much in advance.

Have a nice day!
