    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://forum.asrock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=423">wardog</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1841<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 28 Jan 2016 at 10:53am<br /><br />Any "guy in the store' will most times say just about anything to make a sale.<br><br>If it's within your budget, knowing you're looking to increase the RAM, I'd go back to the SAME store you bought that 4GB stick from, inquire of their return policy, and if you can leave with buying another of the SAME 4GB sticks, buy one.<br><br>Go home, remove the old 2GB stick replacing it with this newly bought 4GB stick. You may need tto clear the BIOS before the new second 4GB is recognized.<br><br>BUT, the two 4GB sticks should appear IDENTICAL.<br><br>If you have problems, post back and we'll see what is at issue and hopefully get you running.<br><span style="font-size:10px"><br /><br />Edited by wardog - 28 Jan 2016 at 10:54am</span>]]>

Mixing RAM will behave exactly like this if the two sticks are incompatible with each other.<br></div></div>]]>
