Author: zharuko
Subject: 18468
Posted: 27 Mar 2021 at 1:43am

Hello.

So my computer has had this issue for several years now and I believe I've tried every solution I could.

It used to just completely freeze on me whenever I would play what presume to me graphics intensive games. Recently, that changed to just the computer completely sitting down. I figure it has something to do with overheating and that's when I realized that 2 of the fans aren't running and haven't been since I got the computer in 2017 I'm assuming. I went through UEFI and see that the mobo isn't picking up the fans speed. So, I then realized that the fans were connected by molex cable to the power supply. So I tried unplugging that and plugging the three pins for both fans into the chassis fan ports on the mobo, and the uefi still says N/A and the fans aren't running.

I may have discovered the random shutdown issue with the over temperature protection being the culprit but I have yet to test that out.

My specs are as follows:
Z270 extreme4 mobo
Intel i7 i7-7700K 4.20GHZ 8MB Intel Smart Cache LGA1151
Raidmax rf 120 fans
Asetek 550LC 120mm Liquid Cooling CPU Cooler (Dual (Push-Pull) Standard 120MM Fans
