Got my replacement board in this morning. Decided to go back with Gigabyte. Been running their boards for years. Put it all together and system boots up perfectly. Still haven't gotten a response from ASRock on the old board. Ok, tried that and still no luck. Yes, I do have that plug connected. And the 4 pin one also by the first pci-e slot. How do you change to b bios? While awaiting an answer back, power it down and see if switching over to the B BIOS does anything.

And I must ask as again I didn't see an answer: You DO have the CPU powered by plugging in the ATX12V1 8-pin connector on the top center of the MB and leading back to the PSU, right? I only ask as what you've described to date still leads me to believe this was overlooked and would explain away everything you've posted concerning this.

Double check that ATV12V1 is/has securely snapped into place, and while there look closely at the pins and receptacles inside BOTH connectors.

Have now pulled the motherboard back out of the case and have it on my bench. Checked for bent pins and reseated processor then tried the video card out of this computer (EVGA GTX 660) and still nothing. Cleared cmos too. Tried different single sticks of ram in different slots and same thing. Also I tried it with ram in and no video card and I get no beeps that way. Also thre doesn't seem to be power to anything I connect to USB. You may find you need to do a BIOS or maybe even a full CMOS clear before seeing her light up after swapping cards around.

Contact ASRock Technical Support, tell them the components that your system is comprised of.

Politely ask them to roll you a new BIOS incorporating the EVGA GTX 970.

As a test, if you have a lessor vid card you can install, slot in in and she if she comes to life for you.

I can't, and couldn't, believe the 970 to be the issue, but damn, it's looking like it is.

Well I finally got my new ram in (off the list of compatible memory on G.Skill site and also off Asrock list) and it's still not booting. With ram in (tried all different scenarios) no beeps or anything. Just the little BRIGHT red light down beside bios chips. With no memory in, same thing. With no video card or memory I get beeps but with even just one stick of ram in I get no beeps again. Any other suggestions?
