In BIOS, the aim temperature is set to 60°C, the aim temperature is connected to the cpu temperature and is shows cpu temperatures of 45°C.

They are running all the time, I want them to start only when the temperature is higher than the aim temperature.

    Author: simon2021
Subject: 19064
Posted: 13 Jun 2021 at 3:38pm

System: J4204-itx
OS: Ubuntu 20.04

I want to control the fan speed of the housing cooler. Rigth now both fans are running on a middle speed.

There is a similiar thread, but did not help me as the link does not work and the further search did not bring any helps. Furthermore the kernel module mentioned there seems already installed (see later).

I followed these instructions, but got stock at pwmconfig as it gives me:

There are no working fan sensors, all readings are 0.
Make sure you have a 3-wire fan connected.
You may also need to increase the fan divisors.

The strange thing is that when I answer the questions in pwmconfig with yes, the fan speed increases to maximum. So it seems there is some control.

Output of pwmconfig:
Found the following PWM controls:
   hwmon2/pwm1 current value: 80
hwmon2/pwm1 is currently setup for automatic speed control.
In general, automatic mode is preferred over manual mode, as
it is more efficient and it reacts faster. Are you sure that
you want to setup this output for manual control? (n) n
   hwmon2/pwm2 current value: 117
hwmon2/pwm2 is currently setup for automatic speed control.
In general, automatic mode is preferred over manual mode, as
it is more efficient and it reacts faster.
