For example, my "C drive" is at the top of the list in the BIOS, but in Disk Management it's labeled as C drive "Disk 2" instead of "Disk 0".

Is there a way to change the drive number (not just the load order) in the BIOS?

    Author: craighnt
Subject: 19380
Posted: 10 Aug 2021 at 12:57am

So I have the Razer Taichi X570 with 3 NVME slots onboard. The first slot, closest to the CPU is where I put my first NVME drive. I installed windows and under Disk Management it registered as Disk 0. But as I added in the other two slots, it changed it to Disk 1 and now disk 2. Why does the disk number keep changing? I thought the disk number was tied to the motherboard physical location?

How can I get this back to Disk 0? When I check the BIOS it's already marked as the first disk to load so I don't understand what's going on here. I know it wont hurt anything but I am OCD about this and I really want Disk 0 to be where my OS resides. Any ideas?
