Author: Lioninstreet
Subject: 19518
Posted: 07 Sep 2021 at 1:00am

Several years ago I setup a z370 extreme 4 with a Gigabyte GV-RX560GAMING OC-4GD video card with W7. About 8 months ago I added a M.2 with w10 on it. So Im now setup to dual boot (w7 & w10) as I still have some programs requiring w7

I'm trying to use dual monitors but found that I need some setup advise. The problem is the system doesn't always show the screen that displays right after UEFI loads that displays the choice of OS. This is what happens:

When only using one video output, I get the bios beep tone, the screen that offers the choice of OS appears, and after using the up or down arrow as needed to select which OS I want, I can then hit enter, and the system boots. No worries.

However when I am using two video outputs, I still get the beep tone, but both screens stay blank. Running blind, I can still use my keyboard arrows (up or down) to choose the OS and then hit enter. And the chosen OS still loads. Both monitors then light up and the blindly selected OS continues to load normally.

So here is the question. Is there some setting in UEFI I need to change so the OS boot choices will display on my primary monitor when I have two monitors setup?

Thanks in advance for the input.
