I've done something similar with the B560M Pro4 and it works fine (not the same motherboard as you're using, but I think it'll probably be ok )

For reference, I use an x4 network card in the x16 slot PCIE1 that would normally be used for a graphics card (there's no graphics card installed as I was using integrated graphics).

Is it possible to use PCIE Gen3x4 slot not for graphic card? For example PCIE3 on this motherboard H570 Phantom Gaming 4.
