Author: WillyS
Subject: 19781
Posted: 03 Nov 2021 at 6:59pm

I have a B450 steel legend motherboard and a few weeks ago I replaced an old sata SSD for a Samsung 980 M.2 ssd. At the same time I changed the Ryzen 5 1600 for a Ryzen 5 5600.
The Samsung 980 is a PCI Express 3.0 x4 SSD and should be compatible with the motherboard and should work in the first slot (near te processor).

I managed to do a clean Windows install. The computer still starts Windows from the Samsung 980, but in the bios the m.2 is not listed as a possible boot drive. Any changes to the bios makes starting the computer going into a loop. It starts again on te point where Windows should be loaded.

How can I make the bios recognize my Samsung 980 M.2 again?
