Technically speaking, that would work. Just make sure you have the clearance before purchasing. I need 2 more SATA connections, so I wanted to buy this controller. I am not sure if this is going to work since the manual says MPCIE1 is used for wifi module. Does this mean I cannot insert an mini pci express sata controller in that slot? 

Also, I read that there are multiple form factors within the MPCIE standard, but the manual is not clear about this as well. Its so confusing and I am afraid to blow up the slot.
