Author: BB90
Subject: 2067
Posted: 25 Feb 2016 at 3:24am

Hello,

I'm hoping someone will be able to assist me. I am having an issue getting my new build to boot with dual channel memory. The memory I bought are "G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600)" which doesn't say it's supported on the list, but are close enough that I didn't think I would have a problem. The motherboard came on bios v1.00 - I have since updated it to v2.90 with no luck.

I've tried: (these were tried on bios v1.00 and v2.90)
- Placing them in slots A1+B1, didn't post (tried clearing CMOS using the button on the back of the mb)
- Placing them in slots A2+B2, didn't post (tried clearing CMOS using the button on the back of the mb)
- A1 single channel booted fine
- B1 single channel booted fine

Now I'm not sure if I should send these back and get the "G.Skill Trident Z 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 3200 F4-3200C16D-16GTZ" that are on the supported memory list for dual channel, or if I can get this pair to work. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Specs:
ASRock Z170 Extreme4
Intel i7-6700k
G.Skill DDR4 3200 (2x8gb)
Samsung EVO 850
Cooler Master 500watt PSU
