The top outlet fan is hooked up to a chassis fan header and another chassis fan header is empty.

I would like to use the chassis headers to power the front fans so I can adjust the speed on the MB. Could the outlet fan be hooked up to the pwm or should I just power it from the power supply?

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated. As you can tell I'm a computer newby.
