Author: einmannbude
Subject: 2195
Posted: 10 Mar 2016 at 9:21pm

Hey there,

in Hardforum I have read something about an ASRock ITX motherboard that supports PCIE bifurcation, meaning for example the use of a splitter to make two GPUs work in SLI on a one PCIE slot motherboard. I have seen a screenshot of the BIOS where the option to activate the feature was shown. I then looked through the mainboard manuals online and did find out, that the feature is unlocked on the Z170M-ITX/ac board, but it is missing on the Fatal1ty Z170 Gaming-ITX/ac. Last one would be more interesting to me because of the newer I/O.

Is this a matter of updating the BIOS or is there some hardware-related reason why this option is available on one board, but not on the other?

Thanks for the answer in advance.
