I have done all sorts of things. Trying keyboard and mouse in many different usb ports and made sure all power management wake up are set right in device manager.

I am fairly sure it is a registry build up problem of mouses and keyboards. I recently had a problem with my monitors being identified correctly in display and graphic card, but reversed in color management. I found out that every time you plug in a monitor it is stored in Graphics Driver and accumulates causing problems https://support.displaylink.com/knowledgebase/articles/736116-windows-display-properties-identify-numbers-are

Forcing rediscover solved the problem. I suspect the same with input devices.
Plug your mouse and keyboard into the bottom two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.
Assuming you have a asrock z690 steel legend motherboard, there are 4 USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports (color dark blue) and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 port (color aqua blue).
Assuming you have a regular tower desktop case, the top two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports do not wake up computer from sleep using wired mouse & keyboard.
The middle USB 3.2 Gen 2 and bottom two 3.2 Gen 1 ports do wake up computer from sleep using wired mouse & keyboard.
I think this is a hardware issue. Is it enough of an issue to recall ASRock z690 steel legend motherboards? I haven't noticed any other issues with this particular motherboard. If there is I hope there is a BIOS fix for it, or else get a recall. Don't waste time returning this motherboard hoping your next motherboard will wake up from sleep from the top two usb ports.

P.s. can you enable USB wake up in BIOS? I am looking for this option. Let me know if you can find it.

Except for getting received e-mail- nothing. I have tried a few other things. Like a Logitech wireless mouse with a Logitech driver wakes up the computer. It has a battery.
The Redragon wired keyboard and mouse using standard Microsoft driver does not wake up the computer no matter what USB port I put it in- on board back USB ports or a USB Card.
I know power is turned off to the keyboard with Hibernation and Sleep because the keyboard always goes back to its default rainbow color flashing led.

It is probably a BIOS problem working with the standard Microsoft keyboard and mouse driver. Just wondering if I am the only one?
