The memory controller is part of the CPU on AM1 APUs.

I checked the specs of each of the processors compatible with this board, and all of them state 16GB maximum memory. For example:

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Jaguar/AMD-Athlon%205350%20-%20AD5350JAH44HM.html

As Xaltar said, that specification must be a mistake. That is, unless future AM1 processors will support 32GB.
I am guessing that the 32gb listed on the product page is a typo. I checked 4 different 16gb DDR3 RAM modules compatibility (on the RAM product pages) and they all listed the AM1B-ITX as incompatible. That isn't surprising though given all the 16gb single modules I could find were server class RDIMMs.

If I may ask, why would you want 32gb of RAM in an AM1 system? I am just curious what application you have in mind for a low power system with that much RAM.

Edited by Xaltar - 07 Apr 2016 at 6:10pm
