Update:
I've done a clear cmos, and now i can see my 390 on the pcie2!!!
Of course i've removed all the old drivers with ddu and installed the last crimson release.

Now i've to test if freeze still happen, i'll update you :)

I removed my vga for a long stress test on cpu/ram/psu, and all went fine:


Now the hardest part is to find out if my 390 is broken, or my mother board...

I'm going to do a clear cmos to understand if my pcie2 has totally gone

I have had similar problems, all I can say is that from my experiences over the last 2 weeks:-
Windows 8.1 seems to work better than Windows 10.
Use App Shop to update all your drivers online.
I have also had sleep problems, In Windows power options: make sure all settings are at max i.e. stop any sort of sleep. In Bios allow USB and keyboard to wake up PC.
PCIE2 problems with a TBS6984 DVB-S2 card :- set the slot to GEN1, warm boots loses sight of it, cold boots always work for me.

Hello parsec, thank you for your help!

I didn't clear the uefi with a cmos, i have to try it.


This is my motherboard, and everything is connected. I tryed also without the soundblasterrx 4 for a while, but freezes still happen. I'm using win 10 and my memory have 2 xmp profile, the one i'm using at the moment is 2400, the second one doesn't boot the pc :|

As you can see i have only 2 pci slots for vga, and they are pci2 and pci4, pci4 seems to be the only one working (with freezes...)

Did you clear the UEFI/BIOS after moving your video card? You should do that every time you do a major change in your hardware. Moving a video card is such a change.

It's strange your video card did not work in the PCIE2 slot, but did in the PCIE4 slot.

The PCIE4 slot is x4 electrically, PCIE2 is x16 electrically.

Try moving the video card again, clear the UEFI/BIOS before you start the PC again, and see what happens. Be sure that it is seated correctly. If it is not detected the first time you start the PC, press the reset button on the PC, and try a few restarts to see if it will be detected.

If the video card won't be detected in the PCIE2 slot, the board might be bad. Does that card use a power cable, or does it just use the power from the PCIE slot?

Did you ever try connecting a power cable to the extra power connector on the board for the PCIE slots?

The only thing that I can see in your hardware list that makes me wonder is the sound card, the Sound Blaster RX. Is that the Sound Blaster Audigy Rx?

The latest driver and software for that card is... wait, we don't know what OS/version of Windows you are using.   You can do a test by removing the sound card and see if you still get lockups.

Does your memory have an XMP profile to set its speed to 2400?

Thx for your answer, but i've removed my cpu to change the thermal paste and it was perfect, also the socket on the motherboard looks like fresh new!

Is there another way to test the pcie2? (i have only that vga...)

Check your CPU socket for bent pins, it sounds like a CPU or socket problem. I tried to switch vga to pcie 2 (it was on pcie 4 before) but it doesn't work at all, the pcie 2 slot doesn't show anything on bios browser, it's empty for the mother board. It works if i switch to pcie 4, so i guess i have a broken motherboard with faulty pcie... is it correct?
