My motherboard was running version 1.0, I suggest you update your bios, for me version 1.0 was very unstable. Currently running 2.6 and it's stable.

    Author: DeDLySMuRF
Subject: 2406
Posted: 09 Apr 2016 at 3:16am

I recently purchased the ASRock Z170M Pro4S LGA 1151 Motherboard to run my new i5-6500 processor and some new DDR4 memory.

This is the memory I purchased:
2x HyperX FURY 8GB (2 x 4GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2666 (PC4 21300) Intel X99 Desktop Memory Model HX426C15FBK2/8

Here is my issue. I can use 1, 2 or 3 sticks of memory without any problems. As soon as I drop the 4th stick in, my PC will not start.

I have tested all 4 sticks individually using memtest86 and all 4 passed without any errors. I then tested all 4 memory slots running a single stick in each of the memory slots separately and all tests passed with 0 errors. I have tested different setup's of 3 sticks and no matter what 3 I use, I do not have any issues. So I do not believe that the memory or the memory slots are causing an issue, but I cannot figure this out. What can I do next to try and resolve this issue?
