I get what you mean, there is nothing worse than spending money on a feature and
having it not work as expected.

You can try the Beta but I would contact ASRock Tech Support directly, they will

If you google USB and SATA port drop outs you will see this is a common issue
(unfortunately). I believe it is connected to AMD's AGESA but can't say for
certain. The issue is that it doesn't effect everyone so I imagine it's a real
problem to track down the cause. Likely it's more common on certain hardware
configs. A similar issue was eventually resolved during the 300 series lifetime
but I believe it took quite some time before AMD finally resolved it.

Personally, I prefer using a dedicated SATA controller (high end) if I am using
that many drives, it gives a bit better peace of mind.

They should be able to better advise you, there may be a setting somewhere or

I got a replacement MB.... after 12 hours, same problem and SATA links go down.
the drives work well if they are plugged on an additional PCIe SATA card...

I have 8 HDD , but I can't use the 8 SATA ports of my MB

Is there a problem with the SATA controler?

Hello,

After installation of my new configuration (migration from old server), with new CPU + RAM + NVME SDD + ASROCK MoBo, one of my RAID5 arrays (5x4To HDD) went corrupted.
Rebuild was impossible and 1 HDD was systematically ejected during the process.
After inspection of logs, it appears that ata2 port is the issue. Link goes down after a few minutes (from SATA 6Go to UDMA 33, and then down)
DMSEG has the same conclusion.
HDD is not in cause, since permutating SATA ports displaces the problem to the new HDD connected to ata2 port.
I managed to rebuild my array using an additional PCIe SATA card and stopping using ata2 port.

If ata2 port is not used, there is no errors anymore in DMESG output

I bought this motherboard specifically for its 8x SATA ports and now, only 7 are usable, and more worrying, my data are note safe!
Is it a known issue? What should I do?
