Author: Xaltar
Subject: 24582
Posted: 01 Jun 2022 at 5:03am

ASRock has often enabled things like this in the BIOS on boards that technically
shouldn't support it. Sometimes intel gets angry and they must then remove the
feature. There was another thread with a similar question to yours where ASRock
Tech Support replied, they said exactly what I told you.

This is why I don't recommend updating when everything is working as it should.
Sometimes you lose features, especially with intel who are very picky about what
they allow on different chipset boards. It was the same when intel forced ASRock
to remove base clock overclocking on their B85 Anniversary boards (as well as others).

Intel controls what is and is not allowed with their chipsets, manufacturers will
often try and sneak something past them (like XMP) to provide a better product
for their users but intel often catches on and makes them remove it. It's one
of the things I really dislike about intel. No manufacturer will risk jeopardizing
contracts with AMD or Intel, they will go out of business. I would contact
ASRock Tech Support and inquire about flashing back to an older version that
still supports it. There is nothing we can do to help you on the forums I am
afraid. It seems intel has laid down the law again.
